Junior coaches will learn the basics of coaching strategies and philosophy. Participants will learn how to make a practice plan, approaches for working with different age groups, and specific warm-ups and drills related to t-ball. Successful graduates from the Junior Coaches program will be considered for hire as summer athletics camp counselors.

Alligators and humans are both occupying the same habitat in Southeastern North Carolina. This program will discuss the behavior and biology of alligators. We will meet at Lake Waccamaw State Park to observe alligators in the wild. This workshop is led by educator Becky Skiba of the N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission.

Join Halyburton Park in welcoming Becky Skiba with the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission for an introduction to fishing workshop. This workshop is for beginners who are interested in learning how to use fishing equipment as well as learning about the fish that are found in the waters around Wilmington.

This workshop will take place at Smith Creek Park and transportation is not provided. All fishing equipment will be provided. Smith Creek Park is located at 633 Shenandoah St in Wilmington

All CDC and State of North Carolina requirements for COVID-19 will be enforced including social distancing, health screening, and a mask is required if social distancing is not possible. Pre-registration for this program is required and space is limited.

104003 - Snake & Turtle Feeding

Enjoy a brief presentation about the live animals on display in the Events Center and then watch them feed. At least one snake and turtle will be fed during the demonstration. Participants will be required to follow all CDC and NCDHHS COVID-19 guidelines with facemask and social distancing.
